July 4th Cake

4th july cake

Happy July 4th to everybody folks! I know I’m Italian and I have nothing to do with your Independence Day but

1. I just love any kind of celebrations, they but me in a good mood

2. Just give me a reason for making a cake and Im already on my way to the kitchen

3. I live with 2 Americans so…

4. I love any kind of celebrations…oh I already said that.

The other day I was looking for some original ideas and I stumbled across this Fourth of July cake by Ree Drummond and I just fell in love with it a first sight!

You guys should all go get the ingredients and start making this cake for your party! I am serious this cake is divine, you can’t miss it!

Bake for about 25 min at 180 C

Meanwhile prepare the frosting. With your electric mixture cream butter and cream cheese. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined scraping the sides during the mixing.  Now pour 1/4 of the frosting on your cake and using a spatula spread it evenly.

With a toothpick mark off the area for the stars.

DSC_2293

Pour some of the frosting in a pastry bag and start by squeezing two lines of frosting at the bottom of the cake going up till you reach the top. Leave 1.5 cm of space between each 2 lines.

DSC_2294

In the empty spaces line up some raspberry. So it is 2 lines of frosting, 2 lines of raspberry, 2 lines of frosting, 2 lines of raspberry and so on.

DSC_2296

Fill the square in the corner with the Blueberry. Don’t bother cause you won’t be able to fit 50 on there.

Squeeze some little dull-ups on the blueberry to represent the stars.

And your Fourth of July cake is done and you guys are ready to celebrate!…and to not ruin your day I am not going to post the nutritional value of this delicious piece of art!
