Crispy Yogurt Chicken

I am trying to learn some basic photography cause it seems like cooking and photography go together. All the cooking blogs I have checked recently have beautiful, perfect, spectacular pictures…mine suck! They do, the colors are all washed out, they are either over exposed or under exposed…I’m a disaster! and I apologize for all the horrible photos I have forced u to look at…from now on I promise I’ll be better :)…

…Starting from the next post tho, cause the pics I took yesterday aren’t really what Im aiming at…just be patient, I’ll get there…

For today just focus on the description of the recipe rather than on the photos, ok?…Thanks :)

Today we are making Crispy Yogurt Chicken, a delicious way of cooking chicken legs…Make it tonight for dinner, you won’t regret!

Ingredients (for 2 servings):

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • fresh parsley
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 cup breadcrumb
  • 4 chicken legs
  • 1 tsp Winchester sauce
  • salt, black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sour cream
  • 1/2 lemon ( juice)

Take the skin off your chicken legs (or leave it there if u like that kind of things) and salt them well.

Chop some fresh parcely

In a bowl combine yogurt, parcely and 1 clove of chopped garlic

Squeeze in half a lemon and mix well

In a separate bowl place the breadcrumb

Now take one chicken leg, pass it in the yogurt mixture

then roll it in the breadcrumb until it is all covered

Place your chiken legs on a baking tray (butter it a bit before)

Now place a slice of butter of each leg.

Cover in foil and bake at 180-200 C for about 1 or 1 hour and 15 min. Watch the time…remember as in photography everything is about light, in the kitchen everything is about timing!

While the chicken is cooking prepare your Ranch sauce…this is my version of ranch sauce, a bit different but really good!

Take the leftover of the yogurt mixture you used to coat your chicken legs and add to it mayonnaise and sour cream. Mix well.

Now add black pepper and some Winchester sauce

Mix all well and it is ready to go!

Remove the foil for the last 15 min so the chicken can get some nice golden color. You want your chicken to be crispy on the outside but soft on the inside…that’s the secret!

Serve it warm with the ranch dressing!

One serving (without the dressing) provides:

  • Calories: 459
  • Fat: 16 g
  • Carbohydrates: 4.8 g
  • Protein: 39 g
