Blackberry Chocolate Sheet Cake

I like sheet cakes, they are simple, easy, not fancy!

I don’t like fancy food…

oh, I haven’t told you about my pole dancing adventures in a long time. Well, since I started practicing lots of things have changed. I’ll make a list:

1. I’ve gotten much better

2. I’ve learned a lot of new tricks: the Gemini, Scorpio, Cross Knee Release, Butterfly, Superman, Flag,…

3. Everyday I discovered new bruises on my tights and abdomen

4. I broke my toe nail about 15 times (and I am not joking)

5. I’ve start fantasizing about me performing at Club Good Heart in LA

6. I’ve been tempted to do a couple of spins using the poles on the trains that I take everyday to go to work because……..well, when you are a pole dancer any pole would do…

7. I have decided to get certified and start teaching

8. I have decided to open a pole dancing school in my hometown

Maybe one day, I’ll be posting some of my pole dancing picture here….

for now, let’s focus on making blackberry chocolate sheet cake.

Ingredients (serves 12):

for the cake

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp vanilla extract

for the frosting

  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

In a mixing bowl combine flour, baking soda and sugar

In a saucepan melt butter

Add in cocoa powder and stir together

Add boiling water and allow mixture to boil for 30 seconds

Turn off the heat and pour chocolate mixture over flour

stir together until all ingredients are combined

In a mesuring cup pour 1/4 cup of buttermilk. Crack in one egg and beat it up. Add the vanilla extract

Pour the buttermilk mixture into the butter and stir to combine

Pour into sheetcake pan and bake at 180 C for about 20

While the cake is baking go ahead and make the frosting.

In a bowl of your electric mixture combine butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract and 2 tbsp of milk

Beat up all the ingredients until creamy

Once the cake is cooked and cooled, cut it up into small rectangulars

Spread each rectangular with frosting

and with a pastry bag, add a big round ball in the center

next grab some fresh and washed blackberries and place one blackberry right in the center of the rectangular

and there you go!

Ready!
