Saffron Roasted Chicken Wings
When I was a kid, I was super picky. I would have NEVER eaten chicken skin or anything hanging off any animal bone. I have always been more of a pescetarian and the only way for my mom to have me eat meat was to ground it, or cut it into very thin, small pieces, with no fat attached and make sure it was fully cooked.
Growing up, I have slowly learnt how to enjoy a good steak, a juicy burger and also chicken wings!
In today’s recipe I show you one of my favorite way of cooking chicken wings. Ingredients are simple and the meat gets a nice yellow-ish color from the saffron.
Give it a try!
- 12 whole chicken wings (about 30 gr. each)
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1/2 tsp saffron
- 1/4 cup butter
- salt and ground pepper
Pre-heat oven to 220 C (450 F).
Grab your chicken wings – I got mine on Mr.Meat
Lay them on a baking tray and season with salt and pepper
Pour some extra virgin olive oil in a small bowl
add butter, saffron, lemon juice, salt and pepper
heat until butter is melted then brush wings with 1/2 of the sauce
Bake for 20 min, then flip, brush the opposite side with the remaining sauce and bake 20 more minutes or until the wings get a nice golden brown color.
Serve them up right away!
Great finger food idea too!
