Overnight Protein Chocolate Chia and Hemp Heart Pudding

This Chia seed pudding made with hemp hearts and enriched with vegan chocolate protein powder will fill you up and give you all the energy and nutrients you need to start off your day!

This recipe is perfect for days when you’re craving a creamy, healthy and easy breakfast or snack. It only takes about 5 minutes to whip up.

Since I’ve discovered hemp hearts about half year ago, I’ve been adding them to salads, smoothie bowls, juices, breads and cookies. They add a mild nutty flavor, and hemp seeds are an excellent source of essential amino acids – something uncommon for plant protein sources. Two tablespoons contains about 6 grams of fat, 2 grams of fiber, and 5 grams of protein.

As for chia seeds, they’ve earned their reputation as a trendy superfood partly because of their impressive nutritional profile. They contain 5 grams of fiber per tablespoon and the essential omega 3 fat. To take things up a notch I also used vegan chocolate lean protein powder (I used Tropeaka, which is sold online here ) and I topped the pudding with fresh berries and gre3n coconut chips for some extra crunchiness (get your hands on some here)

Here is the recipe!

Ingredients (makes one serving):

  • 1 jar or 150 ml
  • 3 tsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp. Tropeaka chocolate lean protein powder
  • 1 tsp Tropeaka coconut water powder
  • a handful of gre3n coconut chips
  • water
  • 1 tbsp. hemp heart seeds

The night before place chia seeds, hemp hearts in a 150 ml jar and fill it up with water. Shake well and place into your fridge. The seeds will swollen and this is what it will look like the following day


Add 1 tsp of coconut water powder – Option: if you don’t have coconut water powder, instead of water when soaking the seeds, use coconut water. This will give the pudding the same flavor!

2 tbsp. of chocolate protein powder

and gently stir them

Top the pudding with fresh fruit, I used berries cause they are my addiction, but you can really use what you like most

and for some extra sweetness and crunchiness I also added some gre3n coconut chips

This was SO delicious! It kept me full and off from snacking all morning.
