Pomegranate Tea

Pomegranate Tea

A boost of Vitamin C, this tea will help you defeat any cold and will warm up your chilliest evenings!

Did you know that 1 pomegranate has 40% of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C? Pair that to the anti-inflammatory properties of ginger and a fresh taste from mint leaves and you have the perfect holistic treatment for your winter colds!

Ingredients (serves 3 cups):

  • 1 large pomegranate
  • 4 cups water
  • a handful of fresh mint leaves
  • 1.5 inch fresh ginger, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)

Peel and slice the ginger and deseed the pomegranate

In a small saucepan, bring pomegranate, water and ginger to a boil; reduce heat.

Add mint and simmer until fragrant and colorful, about 15 minutes.

Stir in honey, if using; strain tea, and serve hot.

This tea has got a bit of a tarty flavor, which will be mild down by the honey or agave if you are using 🙂
