Homemade ice cream without an ice cream machine? Just an other dream becoming true! With this recipe you will be able to make ice cream at home without investing ANY money into an expensive ice cream machine.
I’ve always wanted to be able to make my own ice cream but I have always procrastinating buy a professional machine. The other day tho, I went grocery shopping and when I went looking at the prices for imported ice cream here in Shanghai I was shocked! A small container can cost from 90 to 150 rmb…(13 to 20+ usd) and I told myself that with the amount of ice cream I eat in the Summer I better find an other way to outsource it. So I went home and looked at ways for making my own one without using a machine. I found many recipes but none seemed good enough so I combine I few together and came up with this recipe!
It works perfectly and it does make a creamy ice cream!
Today I’ll show u how to make coffee flavor ice cream later I’ll post recipes for chocolate ice cream, vanilla ice cream and many fruit flavors.
Ingredients (makes 1 kg of ice cream):
- 500 ml heavy cream
- 3 whole large eggs
- 100 g sugar
- 3 tbsp espresso coffee
- 10 g instant coffee powder
Make some very strong espresso and put it in the freezer to chill
Meanwhile divide yolks from whites and whisk the yolks with the sugar until creamy
Whip up the whites
then in a separate bowl whip up the heavy cream
Next up add whites, instant coffee powder and 3 tbsp of espresso to the whipped cream
then add the yolk cream
and slowly whisk all the ingredients together until creamy
Transfer into a container and freeze for at least 3 hours. Then take it out
scoop it out
and serve immediately!
